Happy New Year

Time seems to fly by faster each year I get older. Why is that? Let me give a quick update:
Amanda and Branden- Amanda is looking forward to starting beauty school, as soon as they get into a new house. Branden...continues to work hard, and is also looking forward to continuing his education at ASU. The boys are growing like a weed, and Tessa will be one year old Feb. 5th.

Michael and Brooke- Moved into their new house in Henderson, after returning from their honeymoon in Sept. Michael is studying, and testing for City of Las Vegas Fire dept this month. He recently passed the National registry paramedic exam, which is fantastic. Brooke is working as an E.R. nurse at St. Rose Dominican Hospital in Henderson, while Michael works part-time for Boulder City Fire, and does landscaping on his day's off. ( this is while he's waiting to get full-time) Also....they are thrilled to announce that they are expecting a baby in July...so exciting. Little Tristyn is going to have a little brother or sister..how fun will that be?

Amber and Devin...Amber is loving being a stay at home mom, after working full-time for the last 6 years. Amber and Devin enjoyed the home BYU games again this season, and it was always fun having them come by on their way up, and back.  Amber also is busy in Young Womens and Devin just called as the second counselor in their Ward's bishopbric. Needless to say...they stay busy, but always find time for fun.

Spencer....working in Las Vegas right now, and dating a nice girl " Jenna" Spencer is also studying to test for Las Vegas Fire..so we'll see. I also think he's considering furthering his education and possibly making use of his Japanese skills. We'll see. There are endless possibilities for him.

Kaycee- after attending Dixie the first quarter...she is now waiting to move down to Arizona and stay with Amanda and Branden for at least a year. Why? Well, she's going to help Mandy out with the kids, so she can go to Beauty school. Then, Kaycee is also looking into going to Massage Therapy school, where they have a campus in Tempe. So, hopefully it will all work out, and everyone will be happy. I think it will be fun for Kaycee and Amanda to spend some quality sister bonding time together. And it will be a good experience for Kaycee too I think.

Ashley 12 and enjoying school, friends, young womens, and dance. I can't believe she'll be 13 in April...she's growing up fast, but still tiny compared to most friends her age.

Kaylee--- what a hoot! She keeps me busy..she will be 11 in Feb. and is wanting to get into musical theatre. So, we are going to check that out. She loves helping in the kitchen.

Riley 10 yrs old now. What a fun boy. He loves riding his bike, going on the dirt jumps, going to the skate park, reading, and playing with his friends...he also really likes school where he's in the top of his class, and also on the safety patrol.  He misses his older brothers a ton! And is looking forward to some brother time soon.

Mike is still working hard for YESCO, Besides staying busy in his church callings, he's been working on our bathroom remodel and I will be so happy when it's completed. I really appreciate his hard work, and the fact he never forgets our date nights. And he's the best foot rubber...EVER!.

Me ( Paula) well...of course there is the typical mom/ grandma, wife stuff. Right? We all know how much work that is. And fun too. I am looking forward to taking some classes over at Dixie College. I'm somewhat nervous, but excited at the same time.
We will see ...I also have some other things going, which I'll post about later...but for now...it's in the thought process, so till then....It's all good.

Happy New Year

Paige is getting so big, and I can't believe she'll be one year old on Jan. 17th...what a cutie.

Christmas 2009

Christmas was nice and simple. We enjoyed Christmas Eve dinner at Amber and Devin's home in Las Vegas. It was really fun. All our kids were there except Amanda and her family, which would of made it even more perfect. Then we spent a relaxing day at home on Christmas, while the kids played and enjoyed their simple gifts. We especially feel blessed, that Mike has a job, when so many people are not employed right now, and experiencing major financial distress. We look forward to a new year, with new goals and new opportunities, and of course new adventures.

What's new?

It's been a while since I've updated our blog. I am not very good at this am I? Michael and Brooke's reception turned out beautiful it was fun seeing friends we hadn't seen for a while.
Michael said they had a blast on their honeymoon cruise and mentioned to Brooke, " We need to send my parents on a cruise they would love it"...(yes we would) any vacation for that matter.

Amber and Devin have began their annual BYU home game trips, so we are looking forward to seeing them and Paige more often.

Kaycee is liking college so far. Dixie has had an increase in their student numbers this year, as I think alot of colleges have. So many people wanting to either finish their degrees, or get more education to increase not only their knowledge but their ability to earn more money.

Spencer is living in Las Vegas now, because of his job. I miss seeing him around here, and love it when he comes by- even for a short visit. We are still working on getting our bathroom done. It's been a slow process and I will be so glad when it's all done and the mess is cleaned up.

Kids are all doing fine, the school year is good so far. Riley is enjoying playing flag-football, skate-boarding,reading, and playing with his friends. Ashley is liking 7th grade, she really had fun at girls camp in July. Kaylee is enjoying school so far, and looking forward to being in a school play. Mike is working hard as always...( no rest for the weary)..he amazes me all the time.
I need to increase my earning potential now that the kids are getting older and in school all day. I think I may also look into college...Amanda is going to start " Hair School" or whatever you call it now a days..cosmetology and hair? She's really excited and I know she'll be great at it. I miss seeing my grand-kids and hopefully will be able to visit them soon. Till then, it's all good

It's been a while

Oh time is flying by as usual. The month of June Amanda came and stayed with the kids, and we had a good time. It was fun having them around me everyday. The house is alot more quiet now, but I miss them anyway. Michael Jr. is married to a sweet gal Brooke. and we are thrilled. Their reception is coming up the end of August. Life is busy.

Riley's award

Riley brought home a letter from school. This is what it said:
Congratulations! In the past few weeks, we have received word that your son scored in the top 10% in the United States on the national Iowa Test. This is an outstanding accompishment. On Friday March 6th, 2009 your child will be receiving a special certificate from the Utah State Board of Education. We encourage your child to dress up for this award. So, Friday morning we went to the school where they had a nice program, and Riley got his certificate. The principal said that this was really a big deal, and that it's quite the recognition. So way to go Riley. I always knew he was a smarty.. I just love that boy.
